First test in APUSH...eeekkk it's exciting and nerve-wreaking. Now I heard that you guys got new textbooks this year and you are currently reading both of them (HA Suckers!!! >.< ) so I don't know how this test or really any of the tests are going to be set up now. But as with any other new textbook, the content is going to be roughly the same with just some different chapter differences.
With this new exam you have to know more of the Pre-Colombian than previous students but other than that, questions and the difficulty of the multiple choice should be the same (Please tell me if I'm wrong though cause I don't know for sure ^.^). This being said, I'm pretty sure that studying for any test in Mr. Johnston's class is also going to be relatively similar.
The way that a test works is that you have multiple choice questions and then a term. Each question is one point each and the term is 40 points (graded on a 10-point scale with the Who, When, Where, What and Why). Yet most people who know this (me :3) still have a hard time (me :3) trying to figure out how to just sit down and study (because my brain isn't wired like that and I need interaction in order for something to stick easily...but that is just my weirdness again).
STUDY GROUPS!! Oh man did I love these! My friends of about 10 of us would go to Sam's basement and we would just study at her house at 5, eat pizza around 7, and then end up just talking by around 9 and going home by 10. Not only was it fun but it was helpful. We would go down the list of terms and explain through them and answer any questions anyone had. Then we would do some practice test questions and the online practice tests.
TERMS!!!! When it comes to these tests, unless you're a beast like Michelle and can binge on the chapters in a night or two, trying to read the book at the last minute won't help you that much. If anything it will hurt you more because you will forget everything and either panic or have a blank-out moment. The main material is already in your head from previously reading the book (if you weren't like me ^.^) to lecture in class. The main things that you need to get specific on now is TERMS! (Hint: That is why they are called specific examples!!!!!!) Live, Love and BREATH TERMS (and then die from them after the AP Exam because your brain is too crammed from the influx of information).
Well, that is basically all that I did to study for tests but then again....I was a C average student (but it's weighted to a B!!), so maybe solely taking my advice isn't the best...yeah....
ANYWAYS, leave a comment down below of other ways that you think would be beneficial to help you and others study because as High School Musical says, "We're all in this together!" (thankfully...).
